What is a Gulet

The Gulet, classic Turkish boat, is a traditional wooden motor sailor powered mainly by engine. It's the heir of those ancient fishing boats that sailed across the Aegean Sea hundreds of years ago. Today the purpose of sailing this wonderful Gulet had been changed by transforming it to a mini floating hotel that serves the most scrumptious cuisine to its guests and will offer them the best hospitality experience by its crew. Any Gulet has an insurance cover and safety equipment such as life jackets, life rafts and emergency kits, according to the standard of and recommended regulations of its country and also subject to periodic inspections by relevant authorities to ensure safety and comfort of the guests onboard.

Spending the holiday on a Gulet

Once you enjoy your breakfast you will spend your time sailing to reach out spectacular tranquil bays, scenic beauty of islands with fabulous coastlines and sites of historical values. Once you return aboard, you will be delighted to sip a tingling cocktail on the comfortable cushion stern. Then the delicious dinner surrounded by the sea will be waiting for you. Especially your dinner will be prepared by fresh food from local markets. After the dinner the gullet will be moored to a harbour or a quiet and tranquil bay for your overnight stay.

Gulet Standard category: This type of a Gulet existence of long time. They are simple and basic, each cabin has attached bathroom with shower. Most of the time they don’t have air condition and deep freezer. The crew consist of  2 or 3 crew members, they are Captain and chef/sailor. This is an economical type Gulet which is recommended for adventure seeking youngsters and sports personnel.

Gulet Superior category: This Gulet offers more spacious cabins that have attached bathrooms with shower cubicles. They are nicely furnished and have proper sail riggings, one or two engines, generators, air conditioning system, refrigerators and deep freezers. The crew consisting of 3 or 4 members. And they are the Captain, the chef and the one or two sailors. They are often equipped with facilities for various water sports, such as canoeing, windsurfing, fishing etc. The Superior Gulet has medium  costs and is ideal for family with children or groups of friends.

Gulet Luxury category: The bigger Gulet has twin engines, modern sail equipment and full navigation equipment. Most of them has the hull in steel or laminated, up to length of 50 m. It’s richly furnished with classic or designed modern furniture. The cabins are  max 5 or 6 large and extremely comfortable and cosy - independent panel control of air conditioning system and  significant space and closets  for clothes and personal belongings, flat TV and DVD, large bathrooms with shower cubicles often with hydro massaging facility. The highly disciplined and hospitable crew consisting of 3 to 7 members will take care of your needs promptly. They are Captain, chef, sailor, technician and hostess, all with classy uniforms. The costs of this kind of a Gulets vary according to the size of the Gulet, the service on board and the navigation area. Gulet of this category is suitable for extremely demanding clients who expects a customized service and top notch superior gulet holiday experience.
